Thank you K2 Summit runners for a great, albeit rather toasty, day in Auburn & Cool!

Race Information

Starting at the beautiful American River Canyon Overlook Park, run on the historic Western States trail, crossing no-hands bridge twice and tackle one of the toughest climbs in the area, and training grounds for top runners, the dreaded K2 climb. 50k (34 miles) runners will hit K2 twice. If you’re not wasted after that, then stomp into cruise mode, hitting the knickerbocker aid station and then traverse through meadows, single track, and farmland rolling hills, making your way back Overlook Park, where you’ll be treated to a wide variety of food and beverages. Preliminary results will be posted every 15-20 mins as people are finishing.

Aid Station Distances

At Inside Trail Racing aid stations it’s like an all you can eat buffet, but this is a race, so don’t linger too long! Expect to find variety at our aid stations, including sweet and salty offerings like trail mix, pretzels, cookies, boiled potatoes with salt for dipping, regular soda, water (of course!), elecrolyte drink, PB&J finger sandwiches, gummy bears, salt tablets, you get the idea. There will also be general first aid items but no anti-inflamatory medicine. We strongly encourage you to carry at least one 20oz bottle from which to sip while you enjoy your run.
