At Inside Trail Racing aid stations it’s like an all you can eat buffet, but this is a race, so don’t linger too long! Expect to find variety at our aid stations, including sweet and salty offerings like trail mix, pretzels, cookies, boiled potatoes with salt for dipping, regular soda, water (of course!), elecrolyte drink, PB&J finger sandwiches, gummy bears, salt tablets, you get the idea. There will also be general first aid items but no anti-inflamatory medicine. We strongly encourage you to carry at least one 20oz bottle from which to sip while you enjoy your run.

The Tablerock 25K was my first trail run and what a run. Cardic hill is aptly named and it was the warm up for the remainder of the run. Lots of single track challenges, particularly on the downhill sections. The second major climb, although more gradual at first, quickly became “the wall”. My quads, hamstrings, calves and glutes were burning bright!! Those Dipsey steps on the way down were as legendary as I’d heard. A real challenge for those of us with “older” knees.

As beautiful as the scenery was–and it was fantastic! The best part of the run were the race organizers and the other entrants! What a nice group of people. As I was crawling up the first big descent, one runner–as she was passing me–asked if I needed water and offered me a drink from you camelback. I must have looked worse than I felt! Thanks to everyone! We’ll do this one again and are already looking ahead to Aug/Sept runs this year.
