At Inside Trail Racing aid stations it’s like an all you can eat buffet, but this is a race, so don’t linger too long! Expect to find variety at our aid stations, including sweet and salty offerings like trail mix, pretzels, cookies, boiled potatoes with salt for dipping, regular soda, water (of course!), elecrolyte drink, PB&J finger sandwiches, gummy bears, salt tablets, you get the idea. There will also be general first aid items but no anti-inflamatory medicine. We strongly encourage you to carry at least one 20oz bottle from which to sip while you enjoy your run.

I like the change that you made to the course. It should be a lot of fun.

Thank you for all the work mapping things out for us down there, Patrick. Much appreciated! It will be a a lot of fun!

If the Toro Trail Run tech shirt is going to have the same logo as what’s in the recent email newsletter (Aug. 29), then I’m going to have to rearrange my weekend schedule to try to enter this run.

  • Running mom

Can I bring a stroller on this run?

    • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

Unfortunately, no. The trails don’t accommodate strollers… There are some very steep and technical sections.

Just ran out in Toro Park today, beautiful views, sunny, people are going to love these races!

Put some pics up on my facebook page if anyone wants to see what some of the views & trail looks like…Camera was spotty due to low batteries yet managed quite a few snaps.

    • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

Thanks for the pictures, Michael. It certainly is beautiful in Toro!

  • Rob

Tim – For the Toro trail run – will you allow race day registration (and if so, what is the time window)? Thanks :)

    • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

We have plenty of room, so yes… we’ll have race day registration. 7:30 – 8:15 @ the Quail Meadow picnic area.

  • ryan

can i wear heaphones / music in this run?

    • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

Yes. Just keep the volume low so you can hear others on the trail. We also ask you turn it off or take out your earphones when you approach an aid station and the finish line.

Trail courtesy also dictates that you run with only one (or none) earbud when on single track trail. Usually it’s best to remove them entirely at AS’s and the finish line… Folks assume they’re still on and you end up seeming kind of rude. ;) Stay aware out there!

        All Day!

Some of the trail in particular Red Tail is very skinny and it would be best for you and others you’re going to be sharing that trail with that you be able to hear very well for that part of the race. Some really quick and agile feet will be necessary there and the trail goes on a little longer than it might seem, so people may either be just in front of you or coming upon you very quickly and suddenly. It’s very easy to cliff out in that little side hill canyon stretch with the lose soil and some of the more degraded sections. So I’d enter Red Tail sans ear buds. Just a friendly heads up.

      • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

Excellent point, Michael. That is a gnarly (but fun) stretch of trail. Definitely best to have all your senses on high alert on Red Tail.

Will half marathon finishers receive a medal as well?

    • http://www.insidetrail.com/ Tim Stahler

Overall and top three in each age group get a medal. Finishers will receive a custom Toro Trail Run pint glass… I can attach a ribbon to one if you want to wear it after the race ;)

      • TotalP

Pint glass to all finishers?! This just keeps getting better.

This was a pretty awesome run although I was illprepared with those hills. I am looking forward to the 2nd annual.

  • TotalP

Thanks, ITR and volunteers, for a challenging (to put it mildly) yet fun half marathon at Toro Park today. Those hills were humbling, but the beer my wife and I drank tonight in our Toro Trail Run pint glasses tasted that much better because of them.
